The Costs Behind the T-Shirts: Riders on the Storm, Coffee & Surf, Coffee &Nata

At Seapath, we believe clothes should tell a story - one of thoughtful design, honest craftsmanship, and sustainable choices. Riders on the Storm, Coffee & Surf, and Coffee & Nata reflect this commitment in every stitch.

These aren’t just t-shirts; they are the result of carefully sourced deadstock fabrics, local production, and a transparent approach to pricing.

The Costs Behind the T-Shirts

Creating a high-quality, sustainable t-shirt is not simply a matter of printing a design. Every step is intentional, and here’s exactly what goes into making each one:

  • Fabric, Cutting, and Packaging: €5.00

  • Manufacturing: €1.80

  • Labels: €0.75

  • Washing: €0.30

  • Embroidery / Print: €3.50

  • Box: €1.00

These are our gross production costs, the foundation of each t-shirt you see in our store. But they’re only part of the story. We also absorb significant additional expenses: EU shipping averages €13 per order, and we cover ongoing costs for energy, marketing, website management, and fair wages.

Locally Made, Low Impact

Every stage of production happens locally in the North of Portugal, in trusted workshops we know personally. This means:

  • Shorter transport distances

  • Lower carbon emissions

  • Support for skilled local artisans

By keeping our production close to home, we ensure minimal waste and maximum oversight, guaranteeing that every t-shirt meets our standards for quality and sustainability.

Why We Share Our Costs

In fast fashion, the true costs - environmental and human - are hidden. We believe in doing the opposite. By breaking down our prices, we aim to show that when you pay for a Seapath t-shirt, you’re paying for:

  • Fair working conditions

  • Responsible material sourcing

  • Products made to last, not to be replaced in a season

Designed and Made in Portugal

Each t-shirt is more than just fabric and thread - it’s a piece of Portugal’s rich textile heritage, brought to life with care and purpose.

Choosing Quality Over Quantity

When you choose Riders on the Storm, Coffee & Surf, or Coffee & Nata, you’re supporting a movement toward conscious fashion - one where clothes respect both people and the planet.
